UvA presents its very first UvA-wide Pitch Competition for researchers, which was initiated by the Amsterdam Law Hub!

This annual 3MT Thesis competition competition is developed by The University of Queensland and held at over 900 universities across more than 85 countries worldwide. 2021 will be the first year that UvA can be added to this list as well. UvA PhD students from the Amsterdam Law School, Economics & Business, Faculty of Humanities and Faculty of Science are invited to take part in the competition.

3MT video production

Participants are invited to register for the competition by presenting a compelling oration on your thesis and its significance through a video of three minutes. This might sound familiar to you as we recently collaborated with a number of FdR researchers already to produce these three minute research pitch videos, based on our workshops Communicating your thesis to the layman and Pitch Perfect.

Based on these videos, each Faculty jury selects 3 finalists. These finalists continue to the UvA finals. The UvA top 3 PhD videos win a monetary prize that can be used to enhance the research. The winner will also have a special 3MT video recorded right after the UvA finals, which will be submitted to U21 for the global competition.

Are you as enthusiastic as we are?
