Empowearing
Wear your rights
Around the world, governments are seemingly undermining the human right to protest, often resulting in arrests of protestors. When arrested by police, the one thing that cannot be taken away from you is your clothing. This is where Empowearing comes in, where fashion meets justice.
How they work
Empowearing designs clothing containing an explanation of the fundamental rights one is entitled to so that those protesting can confidently identify and defend them before, during and after arrest. As the startup expands, the goal is to develop wearables for a range of justice issues including IP rights for creatives, housing rights for students and anti-discrimination rights for LGBTQIA+ communities.
