This time not one, but two nominations.

After last year's successful edition, in which we received the Gouden Zandloper in the category Innovative Legal Education Award for our elective course Justice Entrepreneurship, we are proud to announce that we have received two nominations from the Law Hub this year as well.

Access to Justice

The first nomination concerns our women's legal advice centre, Vrouwenrechtswinkel Amsterdam. In 2021, together with Bureau Clara Wichmann and Gemeente Amsterdam, we set up the first women's rights shop in Amsterdam. The reason for this was the fact that there is still a lot of inequality between men and women, while every person needs equal opportunities to achieve equal rights. And that this was necessary is evident; in one year's time we have already handled more than 300 legal cases.

The second nomination is Legal Crowd: a crowdfunding initiative for legal issues that originated from our master's course Justice Entrepreneurship. Founders Joost and Gabriel (the winners of the course) have shown so much commitment in one year to get their startup off the ground. And with success! Not only have they been nominated many times (most recently for the Philips Innovation Award); their first campaigns have also been launched.

Both organizations have been nominated for the Access to Justice category. We wait in suspense - on 8 September 2022 the winner will be announced.
