'A much-needed recognition of a bigger problem'.

Last Thursday, we joined the Gouden Zandlopers dinner for the second time (last year our master's course Justice Entrepreneurship was awarded), to wait anxiously whether the Vrouwenrechtswinkel Amsterdam would win. As the title of this article suggests, we were surprised with this good news around 10 pm. A great reward for all the hard work in the past year.

Cultural and gender-sensitive approach

During this edition of the Gouden Zandlopers, various social initiatives took centre stage. According to Rajae Azaroual (Lawyer) and Susan Leclercq (Project Coordinator), the benefit is 'the much-needed recognition of the problem'. Where it often proved difficult for women's organisations to adequately answer legal questions, the Vrouwenrechtswinkel meets this need. And that this need is very much present has become clear. By speaking to women in an accessible way - in no fewer than nine different languages - we receive dozens of women at our location in the Kolenkitbuurt neighbourhood for a variety of legal issues.

Vrouwenrechtswinkel Amsterdam is an initiative of the Amsterdam Law Hub, Bureau Clara Wichmann and Gemeente Amsterdam.
