The past few months researchers from five different faculties were given the opportunity to submit their research. They were challenged to present their PhD research to a lay audience in a three minutes video. Based on these videos, three finalists per faculty were chosen, who will compete against the other faculties in September.

This pitch competition, called "Three Minute Thesis" (3MT), was developed by the University of Queensland and is held annually by 900 universities in 85 countries worldwide. We are therefore proud that the UvA can be added to this list this year.

The finalists
The PhDs from the Faculty of Law who were eventually selected by an independent jury are: Teresa Cabrita, Juan Vazquez and Malouke Kuiper. Watch the videos below to see their pitches.

The winner will be announced on 7 September 2021 during the 3MT finals.
