Amsterdam Law Clinics

The Amsterdam Law Clinics offer students valuable experiential learning focused on lawyering skills and providing pro bono legal advice to a variety of organizations. Students learn how to effectively collaborate with clients, to work as practitioners on projects and provide legal advice using a multidisciplinary approach.

At the Amsterdam Law Clinics students work on a wide variety of cases and projects that see to a broad range of public interest issues. Topics may range from environmental issues and human rights protection, to responsible business conduct and the right to a fair trial.

Working with clients provides students a unique opportunity to gain hands-on legal experience while increasing their knowledge of the law and sharpening their legal skills.

Clinical programme

To enhance your learning experience with respect to both the law and legal skills, the Amsterdam Law Clinics provide a unique clinic programme. Testimonial former Clinic students
"During my time working in the clinic, I had the opportunity to delve into the concepts of business and human rights which are deeply intertwined but often considered separately. Additionally, my ability to work in cross-cultural teams was strengthened, my mind has been opened to new career paths and I learnt the value of the creativity and resilience needed to work through the pandemic." - Langa Mpofu, Business & Human Rights Clinic 2020/2021
